Dear users of Ano services,
colder days are coming soon, with or without snowflakes, we still have to abide by the "Road Safety Act on All Roads".
Therefore, we would like to inform you that the date is approaching when the law requires winter equipment on vehicles on winter sections of public roads, and in winter conditions according to the Road Safety Act on all roads.
Winter equipment is primarily important for the safety of all road users, but we draw your attention to the fact that by not complying with the provisions on protective measures, you can jeopardize the exercise of rights under the contract of motor hull insurance.
In Croatia, winter equipment is mandatory on winter sections of public roads from November 15th this year to April 15th next year. Mandatory use of winter equipment refers to all types of motor vehicles regardless of weather conditions and road condition, except for vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, according to the decision on mandatory use of winter equipment on winter sections of public roads in Croatia.
According to Article 104 of the new Ordinance on technical conditions of vehicles in road traffic (OG 85/2016), under winter equipment of motor vehicles of categories M and N whose maximum permissible mass does not exceed 3.5 tons, we mean:
- four winter tires (M + S) or
- four summer tiers with a minimum tread depth of 4 mm and with snow chains fitted to the drive wheels.
In addition to changing tires, do not forget that from November 1st to March 31st, in accordance with Article 102 of the Road Traffic Safety Act (OG 70/2019), daytime running lights or dipped headlights must be switched on on motor vehicles while driving during the day. Motorcyclists, on the other hand, know that they must have their headlights on all year round to ride their motorcycles
